Morgan:

Morgans are a versatile breed, used for both riding and harness. The Morgan is the foundation for both the American Saddlebred and the Standardbred. The body is large, round and deep in the girth and the back is short, broad and well covered in muscle. Shoulders are built for strength rather than speed and the chest is broad and the action is straight and free. The breed standard calls for perfect, symmetrical quarters and hind legs. The Morgan provided the greatest influence in the evolution of American horse breeds.
